May News from Time for Three

To our many friends,

Since our “homecoming” back to Philly in March, when we appeared with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, we’ve been back on the road… from North Dakota to North Carolina, from soloing with Ohio’s Youngstown Symphony to this past weekend in Iowa for four performances with the Des Moines Symphony.  These wonderful concerts were recorded by Iowa Public Television for later broadcast.

Time for Three’s latest album, “We Just Burned This For You!” is now widely available on the internet for digital download; it’s always fun reading listeners’ comments, such as this from iTunes:

“These three are AMAZING! I just got this CD a few days ago, and have been playing it over and over again on my CD player, computer, car, wherever! I wish I could play the fiddle as good as Zach and Nick – they’re seriously CRAZY… their music ranges from slow, beautiful melodies, to fast-paced fiddle tunes, to classical music, to a Beatles tune! Great variety, and all of the pieces are awesome!”

Our summer season is filled with many terrific projects and further artistic development.  Nick heads to the Israel Festival later this month for performances with the Jerusalem Symphony, and we’re very happy to congratulate Zach, who has just been appointed Concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra after an extended search. Zach will continue to perform and record extensively with Tf3, in addition to his ISO Concertmaster duties.

We’ve begun a major commissioning program to expand our unique original repertoire and transcriptions for both symphony orchestras and concert series. One of these projects is a major new work being written by Jennifer Higdon, to be premiered by the Philadelphia Orchestra in January 2008, and by the Pittsburgh Symphony later that year.  We’re very much looking forward to working closely with Jennifer this summer.

In coming seasons, Tf3 will be appearing internationally, and a number of further recordings are both completed and in the planning stages.

If you’re in the area, check out our upcoming shows; the complete list is available on our website: www.tf3.com
