Rhode Island College
Written by Ranaan Meyer
We’re driving up to Rhode Island College at the moment and I’m pumped up — we’re going to perform for a sell-out audience tonight. This always gets Nick, Zach and I excited. Nothing like performing in a great hall that is PACKED to the max with people who are excited about Time for Three's music! This spring has been awesome so far. I feel like Tf3’s playing at our highest level and it’s only getting better. After our Philly Pops shows in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center, something happened as Tf3 jumped substantially to a new level. Anyhow, touring can sometimes be trying but as of late it’s been smooth sailing. We have been performing a lot of the same tunes this year but many new compositions are brewing and this summer Tf3 is devoting most of our focus toward producing new repertoire. I’m really excited about the fresh new stuff we are putting together. New musical perspectives help me with performing on the road. Catching up with old friends is also refreshing. Tf3 recently performed with the Youngstown Symphony and a great friend of mine, Peter Seymour, drove in from Cleveland to hang out. He’s a great bass player and is currently playing in the bass section of the Cleveland Orchestra. We brainstormed about music and how and why it’s changing. This is something Nick, Zach, and I often discuss as well. We’d love to hear your own thoughts on the subject -- please let us know. I’m curious about your perspectives and what you feel Tf3 can do to push our music forward in the new times we’re in. Thanks so much and hope to see you soon at one of our shows. -Ranaan
