Nick Kendall, violinist, joined the roster of Astral Artistic Services as a winner of its 2000 National Auditions. Astral features him this season on its new “Rising Stars” series at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Mr. Kendall was also a first prize winner of the 2002 Young Concert Artists International Auditions.

Recent highlights of his career include an acclaimed Philadelphia recital debut under Astral’s auspices, a quartet performance in Carnegie Hall, performances as a member of the Astral Trio at both the Los Angeles Chamber Music Festival and at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall, and a guest artist appearance on tour with the Metarmorphosen Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Kendall debuted with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra as the winner of their Young Artists competitions. His performances have since touched the concert halls of Anchorage, Chapel Hill, Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Louisville, San Francisco, and Tokyo.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music (where he studied with the internationally renowned violinist Victor Danchenko), Mr. Kendall maintains a strong interest in other musical instruments and genres. He is also an enthusiastic teacher, who utilizes elements from both the classical and traditional repertoire in his popular workshops.
